Bayview Village Neighbourhood Real Estate

Bayview Village 5Bayview Village is an affluent, family-oriented neighbourhood located close to the East Don Valley Parklands in North York.

Bayview Village started as a small farming community in the 1800s and to this day, one of the area's first dwellings; The Clark House, built circa 1885, still remains at 9 Barberry Place.

The neighbourhood, was conceived in 1954 to be "contemporary living in the countryside" by Farlinger Development Ltd. It's planner, Dr. E. G. Faludi, designed a street pattern that would follow the natural contours of the land, highlighting its natural beauty. He also designed the neighbourhoods of Rexdale, Thorncrest Village, and Humber Valley in Toronto.

Bayview Village 3For trivia buffs, it is important to note that many of the street within Bayview Village such as Citation, Candida and Bunty Lane are named after famous horse races.

Bayview Village sits in a beautiful pocket south of Finch Avenue East. With its western boundary bordered by Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street framing the east, Bayview Village stretches south to the 401. Meandering through the neighbourhood is the East branch of the Don River with several beautiful forested walking paths.
